How FireFLY™ LE Works
Real-time detection for timely response
When a potential gunshot is detected, an alert is generated. The FireFLY LE system allows for police department personnel (e.g. dispatcher, first line supervisor, etc.) to monitor and evaluate every gunshot alert in real-time. Should the authorized evaluator tag the alert as a gunfire, a “patrol review” of the alert is automatically generated and police units are dispatched to the scene.
- Self-Calibrating Sensors: Automatically adjusts for optimal performance.
- Unique Microphone Configuration: Ensures precise sound capture and analysis.
- Machine Learning Classification: Differentiates gunshots from background noise, enhancing accuracy.

Behind the Technology
Advanced AI deep learning
At the core of our FireFLY LE sensors is our cutting-edge machine learning algorithm designed to deliver unparalleled sound detection and analysis. Once deployed, these sensors collect a superior dataset of high quality, frequency filtered sounds from the environment. Through advanced AI Deep Learning , the system quickly adapts to prioritize sounds based on their importance and urgency. Within seconds of detecting a noise—whether it’s a gunshot or a common urban sound like a car backfire or fireworks—the system then identifies and classifies the event. With this information, the system relays actionable insights and real-time alerts to authorities, event organizers, or key personnel, empowering them to respond swiftly and decisively. With FireFLY LE, you’re not just detecting sound—you’re enhancing situational awareness, enabling faster decision-making, and ultimately improving safety outcomes in any environment.
FireFLY LE sensors offer a next-level solution for public safety, event security, and critical incident response, ensuring that the right information reaches the right people—when it matters most.

FireFLY LE: Drone-as-a-First-Responder DFR
First on Scene. Every Time.
FireFLY LE is Drone as First Responder (DFR) capable — putting eyes on a scene before boots hit the ground. Integrated directly into the FireFLY LE platform, DFR deployment is triggered automatically from event detection, with full location data, classification, and response details logged in real time. From the mobile command trailer to live airborne feeds, FireFLY LE gives law enforcement an immediate, autonomous aerial advantage — faster response, better situational awareness, and a complete evidentiary record from the moment an event is detected.
How CGIT Works for Law Enforcement
A series of inconspicuous sensors networked together
FireFLY™ LE utilizes a series of inconspicuous sensors that are networked together within a given geographic area that provides the capability to geolocate the location of a suspected shooting event. The data from those suspected events are submitted directly to the police departments in real-time to allow for evaluation and subsequent response. The police departments can access the data through a web interface or smart phone devices. This proprietary technology was designed to provide a capability for law enforcement agencies to most efficiently move or shift sensors to areas of greatest need within their communities to disrupt the ongoing shooting cycles.
When a potential gunshot is detected, an alert is generated. The FireFLY system allows for police department personnel (e.g. dispatcher, first line supervisor, etc.) to monitor and evaluate every gunshot alert in real-time. Should the authorized evaluator tag the alert as a gunfire, a “patrol review” of the alert is automatically generated and police units are dispatched to the scene. Police units equipped with Mobile Data Terminals have all the information related to the alert, including the audio file at their fingertips.
CGIT believes that when it comes to responding to crimes of violence we must cast as wide a net as possible to ensure the comprehensive collection of information. MORE…
